Artist’s Statement
I first discovered my love for glass by accident when I found a job through a staffing agency at Warner-Crivellaro Stained Glass in Bethlehem, PA. Prior to that, I attended Penn State University and received a degree in psychology in August 2002. After I graduated, I was left with the question, “what exactly do I want to do for the rest of my life?” I had a few odd jobs here and there that took me to Myrtle Beach, SC, Baltimore, MD, and Negril, Jamaica.
When I started working with glass in January 2004, it helped me realize how amazing and diverse the medium is. Working at Warner, I took advantage of the resources provided and experimented with stained glass, mosaics, fused glass, and beadmaking. I took several courses across the country from well-known artists and absorbed as much as I could about the medium. I started teaching classes at Warner in December 2004, less than one year after I picked up my first glass cutter! I continued my instruction there, expanding my classes to Northampton Community College, the Glass Craft and Bead Expo in Las Vegas, and Stained Glass Stuff in Ottawa, Canada. I continue to teach classes in my glass studio in Northampton, PA.
I became a full time glass artist in January 2007 and have not looked back since! I have my glasswares in several gift shops and galleries throughout Eastern Pennsylvania and the Lehigh Valley. I create custom work in almost every glass avenue so feel free to search my site and contact me if you have any requests, questions, or suggestions. Enjoy!
